Centre For AI & Privacy Laws
ABOUT THE CENTRE :
The Centre for AI & Data Privacy Law is a research focused initiative under Manipal Law School, dedicated to studying the growth of artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies and their impact on privacy, governance, and society. As AI systems become a part of everyday life, they raise important concerns around data use, surveillance, accountability, and the protection of individual rights.
The Centre primarily focuses on research related to AI and data privacy, with particular attention to ongoing developments in India. It tracks changes in laws, policies, and practices, and examines how these affect individuals, institutions, and the broader digital ecosystem.
The aim of the Centre is to establish a platform that brings together relevant stakeholders to engage with issues surrounding the regulation of AI and privacy. Through its work, it
seeks to contribute to the development of governance frameworks and laws in India in a way that is informed, practical, and responsive to current challenges.
By producing research, encouraging discussion, and engaging with real-world developments, the Centre aims to support a better understanding of AI and privacy, and their growing importance in today’s digital environment.
