The Staff Club of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) organized the first meeting of the year 2026 on 23 January 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the Prof P. Gundu Rao Hall, MCOPS.

The event commenced with a welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Srinivas Mutalik, who outlined the objectives and agenda of the meeting. The primary agenda was to bid farewell to Dr. Salim KT, Department of Pharmacy Practice, in recognition of his valuable academic contributions and dedicated service to MCOPS. On this occasion, the HOD of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Surulivel Rajan, shared reflections and words of appreciation, highlighting Dr. Salim KT’s professional commitment, academic excellence, and interpersonal qualities. As a token of gratitude, Dr. Salim KT was felicitated with a gift by the MCOPS Staff Club.

The second agenda was to formally welcome the newly joined faculty members of MCOPS. As a gesture of goodwill and institutional inclusion, the three new faculty members—Dr. Naresh Puthuraju, Dr. Bhakthi, and Dr. Shriram D. Ranade—were presented with MCOPS college T-shirts, symbolizing unity and belonging within the MCOPS community.

A compassionate highlight of the meeting was the financial support extended to Mrs. Shoba, an office staff member of MCOPS. On behalf of the MCOPS staff fraternity, the Principal handed over financial assistance exceeding ₹1,00,000, which had been collectively contributed by both teaching and non-teaching staff, as support towards her financial well-being.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Srinivas Hebbar, Staff Club Secretary. Both teaching and non-teaching staff of the MCOPS attended the meeting. The meeting concluded with refreshments, facilitating informal interaction among staff members.
