Smile design using Clear Aligners

The Dept of Orthodontics celebrated Orthodontic week from 3^rd to 10^th October 2022 and conducted a guest lecture on “Smile design using clear aligners” on the 13^th of October. The resource person for the program was Dr. Dhiraj Kumar Shetty, who started the first in-house aligner treatment in Mangalore and is now the director of Mastercare aligners which exports aligners to Australia and Gulf countries. The event was graced by the presence of our Dean, Dr. Monica Solomon and Associate Dean, Dr. Vidya Sarawathi M.

    The lecture focussed on treatment with clear aligners where Dr. Shetty discussed establishing a practice with in-house aligner treatment and displayed an array of simple as well as complex malocclusions treated successfully with aligners.

    The program witnessed good participation by a substantial number of wide-eyed undergraduates, many of whom were inspired to explore the world of treatment with clear aligners.
