Spiritual care in elderly

A continuing nursing education session on “Spiritual care in Elderly" by Dr. Nagesh Simha, Medical Director, Karunashraya Hospice, Bengaluru was organized by the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, MCON, MAHE Manipal through MS teams’ online platform on the 3rd September 2022 between 2.00 & 3.00 pm.
In his talk, Dr. Nagesh Simha explained the spiritual care needs among the patients, especially in the end of life care, different dimensions of spiritual aspects for patients, and challenges in meeting the spiritual needs of the patients. He urged us to understand the unique needs of patients and to honor their perspectives when it comes to spiritual aspects of care.
This session was attended by 39 Faculty members from MCON and five International visitors from Edgehill University.
