MAHE Strengthens Global Footprint in Dental Research at IADR-Asia Pacific Conference 2025

, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, strengthened its international presence as its constituent institutions, Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal and MCODS, Mangalore, actively participated in the IADR-Asia Pacific Region Conference held in conjunction with the 35th Indian Society of Dental Research (ISDR – IADR India Division) Annual Conference in New Delhi on September 18, 2025.

At the conference, MCODS, Manipal and Mangalore demonstrated active participation and meaningful contributions, with a total of twelve faculty members in attendance. Eleven faculty members presented scientific papers, thereby enriching the global dialogue on advancing dental research. Dr. Gopalakrishnan D played a prominent role by moderating a thematic symposium and serving as a judge for the prestigious IADR Hatton Competition at both Junior and Senior levels. MAHE’s presence was further acknowledged through its recognition as a knowledge Partner during the inauguration. In addition, faculty members enhanced institutional visibility by hosting an exhibit booth that featured continuous video presentations and the distribution of brochures, effectively engaging over 1,000 delegates from 25 countries.

Reflecting MAHE’s academic excellence, Dr. Gopalakrishnan D was honoured with the Prof. J. G. Kannappan Award by the Indian Society of Dental Research (ISDR) for the Best Scientific Paper published in the Indian Journal of Dental Research (IJDR). This prestigious recognition was conferred by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. V. Narayan, Chairman, ISRO; Prof. Dr. Pamela Yelik, President, IADR; Dr. Christofer Fox, CEO, IADR; alongside senior leaders from India’s dental and medical education ecosystem.

On this momentous occasion, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M.D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd), Vice Chancellor of MAHE, said: “This achievement is a testament to MAHE’s commitment to academic excellence, global collaborations, and impactful research. Our faculty’s contributions at such a significant platform reinforce MAHE’s vision of shaping healthcare through innovation and scholarship.”
